# Research Daily Summary: What Happened on October 22, 2026

**Recordanelles preserve RNA histories inside single human cells**

Researchers also built an RNA editor that uses a human protein to target its edits.

## Today in brief

A synthetic organelle called a recordanelle can store cellular RNA for several days and be read at single-cell resolution. [1] [2] A separate RNA editor, ALTER, uses human Argonaute 2 for targeting and is generally more effective than editors based on dCas13. [3]

## The day in numbers

- **Up to 90%**: The share of endogenous messenger RNAs recordanelles were reported to sample. [2]
