ProtVar now covers some 500 million human missense variants, and this free hour from EMBL-EBI shows how its newest version helps you interpret them. James Stephenson and Prabhat Totoo demonstrate natural-language search, filtering by function, structural views of a variant's effect and export through the web and REST API. Clinical geneticists, drug discovery researchers and bioinformaticians will get the most from it, and undergraduate genetics is enough, with no coding needed.
