About this event
For ten scientists from Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Djibouti, this two-week course in Addis Ababa covers the whole genomic workflow for priority human and animal pathogens. Most of the time is spent at the bench and the computer, from nucleic acid preparation and Illumina library prep to read QC, assembly, variant analysis and phylogenetics, with introductory Linux, Python and R. It is run by Ethiopia's Bio and Emerging Technology Institute with ICGEB, and applicants need basic extraction or PCR experience.
