How mutations arise, spread and shape genomes is the subject of this EMBL conference in Heidelberg, also open online. Sessions run from the origins of mutations and new tools to study them, through mutations across the tree of life and across cells and tissues, to evolutionary dynamics in cancer and variation within populations. Invited and keynote speakers come from institutes in Europe and the US. Researchers from genomics, evolution, cancer and developmental biology at any career stage are welcome.
