Part of EMBL-EBI's MGnify webinar series, this free session explains how metagenomic reads become contigs and what annotation can then tell you. It compares short- and long-read assembly, walks through MGnify's assembly pipeline and quality measures, and demonstrates the Contig Viewer for taxonomic and functional information. Students and researchers with basic sequencing knowledge will follow it, and no assembly software experience is needed.
