About this event
This EMBO Practical Course at EMBL Heidelberg takes a small group of advanced PhD students and early postdocs through metagenomics from sample to analysis. Participants extract DNA from environmental samples, build metabarcoding libraries and work with Nanopore and PacBio sequencing, then move on to assembly, phage and single-cell metagenomics and functional annotation. Lectures, lab sessions, bioinformatics practicals and poster discussions run across eight days, with places limited to twenty.
