Ono gets regional rights to Biohaven’s IgG degraders

Biohaven gave Ono Pharmaceutical exclusive development and commercialization rights to BHV-1300, BHV-1310 and BHV-1320 in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and ASEAN countries.1 Ono will pay $80 million at closing, followed by a $20 million milestone payment expected within 12 months.1 Biohaven may also earn royalties of about 20% on sales in those markets, while retaining rights in the United States, Europe, China and other territories.1

The candidates target autoimmune diseases driven by immunoglobulin G (IgG), an antibody involved in immune responses.1 BHV-1300 is in a pivotal Phase 3 study for Graves’ disease. Ongoing Phase 1 testing found that subcutaneous dosing reduced total IgG by as much as 87% while sparing the IgG3 subtype.1 The agreement also covers the follow-on candidates BHV-1310 and BHV-1320.1

European biotechs change leadership

After raising $115 million in a Series A round, RQ Bio appointed Gavin Koh as chief medical officer and hired staff in manufacturing, clinical operations and program management.2 The financing is intended to advance RQB01, an influenza antibody in studies required before clinical testing.2 Sensorion named Louis Arcudi chief financial officer on October 7. The company expects to begin clinical testing of SENS-601 by early 2027.2 Sensorion filed confidentially for a possible U.S. listing in September.2
