Transcripta Bio and Mayo Clinic team up on ALS drug discovery
The collaboration will pair patient tissue and clinical information with Transcripta’s molecular profiling platform to search for disease targets.
Today in brief
Transcripta Bio and Mayo Clinic entered a research and licensing collaboration to study ALS and identify potential treatments and therapeutic targets.1
Mapping ALS biology
Mayo Clinic is recruiting living patients with sporadic and familial ALS under an Institutional Review Board-approved protocol.1 Transcripta plans to use its transcriptomic drug-discovery platform to profile patient tissue and compare those profiles with existing drug-response data, seeking possible targets and drug candidates.1
The project aims to map differences in ALS biology among patients and across disease progression, with findings that could support care and targeted drug development.1
